Hope returns to the Philippines

23 May 2013

OM Ships International’s vessel Logos Hope has launched back into service from Hong Kong SAR, China following the annual dry dock and maintenance time required for ongoing operation. The ship is now sailing to San Fernando, Philippines which will be the first of two stops planned for the 2013 visit to this country of many islands. The second port of call, Puerto Princesa, will be the fifth port Logos Hope has visited in the Philippines after stops in Cebu, Manila and Subic Bay in 2012. While many of the crew stayed on board to complete technical works during the time in Hong Kong, many others moved on shore to work locally or in surrounding nations on ‘challenge teams’. In total, 22 teams were sent out from the ship to ten different countries including South Korea, Japan and China as well as the United Kingdom and United States.

Praise: God for the work of Logos Hope and for its ongoing operations. (Ps.18:49)

Trumpet Call

23 May 2013

In June 2012 80+ Christian leaders from the UK stood alongside Parliamentarians for an hour of silently listening to God in Parliament. They believed God gave:

- An urgent warning of judgment, bringing serious crisis in the nation.

-A challenge to the Church to take action, speaking the truth boldly.

-A promise of restoration-God’s glory returning if we turn and submit to Him.

The World Prayer Centre in Birmingham are inviting the Church to unite as a network of believers on Saturday 15th June at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham as we pray for our nation at this significant time. For information click the ‘More’ button.

Pentecost – the Church’s Big Bang moment

23 May 2013

Christmas and Easter rightly have prominent places in the Church calendar. Jesus’ birth, death and resurrection should be properly celebrated, but the place of Pentecost is equally important. Without that point in time when the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus’ followers as they waited patiently after his ascension, they would have remained a group of confused and fearful people. It was the Church’s Big Bang moment. Pentecost is a reminder that the Holy Spirit moves with power and that without the Spirit working through us, individual Christians and the Church will be able to achieve little of substance. Our society desperately needs to see and experience a revolutionary Church filled with the fire of God’s Spirit.

Pray: for the Church to open herself up to the power of the Holy Spirit. (Eph.6:10)
